This Alexander McQueen skull scarf is finally mine…oh how I have stalked you at the Neiman scarf counter


“Good things come to those who wait.” Cliche, but true!

I finally got the Alexander McQueen skull scarf I’ve been wanting for three seasons! The stars aligned when I had a $50 off coupon from Neiman Marcus InCircle rewards and two gift cards. I still can’t believe I didn’t get the basic black skull scarf but this made me crave color and something totally new for my wardrobe this spring. The colors on this neck gem are technically called magenta and yellow although it’s really more of a hot pink. This is my first ever piece of McQueen’s collection and I will treasure it forever. I can’t wait to pair it with navy as per my Chanel makeup guru Jeff Swiatek’s suggestion.

My marathon day of fashion fun: Jonathan Adler, Simon Doonan and Lilly Ghalichi, oh my!

There are somedays where Tom Petty’s “Running Down A Dream” seems to be the only fitting soundtrack for my schedule. On March 21, I spent the whole morning doing interviews at Boca Grove Golf and Tennis Club for Boca Piquant magazine, the country club glossy I edit.



I got obsessed with this pretzel bread and later had to run to Neiman Marcus at Town Center at Boca Raton to see designer Jonathan Adler, who was meeting with fans and signing some of his goods for them. As a delciously delightful surprise, Adler’s husband Simon Doonan was there too! He was looking fab in a leopard button-down. I went in hoping to purchase one of Adler’s blue and white totes, since I recently got a Neiman Marcus gift card and I’ve been wanting to spend it on something amazing. They were out of the blue tote, so I went with something fun and unexpected with Adler’s help! I treated myself to his Orange Scales Heiress Fold Over clutch. It’s a bag than can be worn three ways which is perfect for an on-the-go gal like me who often rushes to three very different settings in a day for assignments and needs something that can easily transition from day to night.

DSW Luxe810 has wicked sweet designer steals and deals at its Boca Raton location



DSW is full of designer surprises but there Lux810 pop up shops are by far the most intriguing collaboration the store has done. The experimental stores offer designer goods at 90 percent off and only opened in locations such as Boca Raton, New York, Boston, Washington D.C. and San Francisco. The shops opened at March 1 and will remain open until the end of the month. Once the merchandise is gone, it’s gone.

You’ll find women’s and men’s items by Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Roberto Cavalli, Marni and many other coveted designers. The items are from past season collections and vary in sizes. While most of the shoes and bags are gone from the Boca location, there are a few Gucci items bags left. To give you an idea of how extreme the sale is, I scored an Emporio Armani baseball hat priced $69 for $13 and a $670 Gucci sweater for $130. Not bad at all my fashion friends. The Archie Collection for M.A.C.–why oh why, didn’t I discover this sooner!

On March 1, I headed down to South Beach for Cotton’s 24 Hour Runway show. It was a hell ride from Boca Raton to Miami Beach. After three delays I eventually got there only to discover the media preview for the event was cancelled due to rain. I wasn’t able to wait another three hours for the show to actually start, so I reluctantly headed back to the parking garage where I left my VW. I can’t pass a M.A.C. store without going in–the makeup or the computers. This display stopped me in my Tory Burch sandals.


Suddenly, I wanted every product in the collection. I was obsessing. All I bought was this blush. Much like Indiana Jones and the holy grail, I thought I chose wisely. I should’ve gotten this and the darn lipstick. The lipstick sold out almost immediately.


When I was in elementary school, my friend Aimee (McPherrin) Quigley and I used to trade Archie comics. She had every one of them and we literally couldn’t put these books down. I think this is the main reason why I got so obsessed with this collection that came in these adorable and Apple (computer) like white containers.


I checked the MAC store at Aventura Mall and Bloomingdale’s in Aventura but no luck finding that lipstick or much else left of the collection. Online, I did luck out. I found this lip-gloss on http://www.maccosmetics.com and immediately ordered it. Score!
